D. W. Field Golf Course, is a Public, 18 hole golf course located in Brockton, Massachusetts
Established in 1926, D.W. Field Golf Course is an 18-hole, 70-par course, located on Brockton's west side. The course is owned and maintained by the City of Brockton Parks Department. The course was designed by Wayne Stiles and John Van Kleek.
This course's fairways vary in width and the thickness of its tree lines. The greens are undulating, and two of them are double-tiered. There are fairway and green side bunkers coming into play throughout the course. The signature hole is #13, a 415-yard, par 4, with a slight dogleg right fairway, and requiring an approach shot to an elevated, double-tiered green that has one large oak tree guarding the right and two bunkers protecting the left.
A sports editor of the "Boston Globe" once claimed that hole #13 is one of the eighteen toughest public holes in the state.
Blue tees: par-70. 5,972 yards, 68.4 / 120

I took my father there when he was in town. I called twice the night before to get a tee time and twice that morning. No one answered the phone on any of the four attempts. We took a chance and showed up. We were able to get on but we were told we had to play 18. Since my father was only in town for a short time we just wanted I get 9 in quickly. We agreed and packed our cart. They had nothing open to buy any kind of drinks, not even water. We set out and couldn't find a starter so we just asked a couple of guys sitting near the first hole if they were going out, they said no go ahead, so we teed off. The fairways were ok, the greens were fairly good, but the rough was so thick you couldn't even find you ball let alone hit out of it. I would expect these kin of roughs as a Pro-am event. Half of the holes weren't marked and there were no yard markers. All in all not a great experience. The good news, I was able to play 18 withy dad.
